Fertilizing: We use Osmocote Slow-Release Fertilizer, available at any good garden center. Place 2 tablespoons in bottom of each hole prior to planting. This feeds your Thuja all year long & is only done once per year.
Thuja Green Giant thrives in full sun to part shade. Foliage grows right down to the ground and can be sheared to desired shape.
A simple shearing once a year is all it takes to keep this colorful, adaptable, and fragrant evergreen shrub in bounds!
Green Giant Thuja even thrives in the intense heat and humidity of Atlanta, Georgia and can tolerate prolonged periods of drought after it becomes established!
Arborvitaes such as Thujas are more drought tolerant than Leyland Cypress with denser, more attractive foliage. Superb alternative to Hemlock in the north.
