Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Arrives as young plant
Like many mail order plants they are often less mature than nursery stock. The first summer it put out one flower. It died to the ground over winter but be patient in spring as it was real slow to come up. This year it is blooming nicely!
Planted this during this summer and got one beautiful flower out of it. It’s still young but what a wonderful addition to the family.
My plant looked very stressed when it arrived. I did everything that I was instructed to do. I planted it in the ground when I was instructed to, and it definitely looks “dead”. However,
A stem did not “snap” off, it was still a bit pliable,so I am hoping it will come up fine in the spring:)
It is likely your plant experienced some temperature shock during shipping as the temperatures cool down. It is likely with proper care and planting it will have no issues returning next year. Feel free to send pictures our way to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can look at your plant further! Your hibiscus plants are covered under our warranty until 5/31/2022. If you find next spring they don't return let us know and we'll be happy to send you replacements or issue you a refund. Let us know if you have any other questions, let us know!
The plant arrived in beautiful shape. Nice and healthy. I cannot wait until next year to see if it will produce the pretty cream color flowers, along with my white, read and pink hibiscus.
Great place to shop. Plants arrived early and good shape. Definitely recommended.
