Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

Healthy plants shipped! 😁😁

I had purchased a few plants from Great Garden Plants for myself in zone 5a and have been extremely happy with the promptness of service and healthy condition of the plants upon arrival. These plants were well packed.
Since being pleased with the plants purchased for myself, I decidesd to purchase a Weigela for a housewarming gift for a friend in zone 7.
Within a few days, the plant arrived there in very good condition and I was emailed a photo of the Weigela with a thank you note.

Does Not Disappoint

The plants arrived in great shape. We had these back in IL and wanted to add them to our NC landscape. They are so gorgeous and great for pollinators. Despite being newly-planted and having hit a dry patch here locally, they perked right up after yesterday's rain. They are not only diehards but also beautiful. We're using them currently as a mountainside swath of bushes. But they'll work equally well in a 12" wide foundation planting surrounded by concrete in full sun without wilting or showing signs of stress. They are one of our top favorite plants. Can't go wrong with these beauties in your sunny garden.
