All beauty and no bother! Dr. Tom Ranney bred this handsome barberry, and it’s got more to it than just looks. Sunjoy Todo® is non-invasive and although it produces pretty fruit, the seeds inside are sterile! So you can rest easy and just enjoy the glossy, dark purple foliage, which is semi-evergreen in warmer climates. It performs fabulously in any landscape without a lick of maintenance after its established – no pruning or supplemental water necessary.

Soil:Grows in any well-drained soil; tolerant of challenging conditions such as salt, compaction, pollution, and dryness.
Light: Performs best and has nicest coloration in full sun.
Water: Has average water needs and once established, performs well through drought.
Spacing: 2-3' feet apart
Fertilizing: Fertilization isn't needed.
Winterizing: No specific care needed.
Maintenance & pruning: Pruning is not required, but if you wish to prune, do so in early-mid spring, before the growth begins to harden.
