Flights of Fancy - A collection of plants for butterflies Description
Bring the beauty of butterflies to your garden! Butterflies are attracted to colorful, nectar-rich perennials, and these six are tried-and-true favorites. Simply plant them in a sunny spot and watch the butterflies arrive. What could be easier or more relaxing?!
We selected the perennials in our Flights of Fancy collection to provide blooms from early summer clear through autumn, so you’ll have a parade of butterflies in your garden for months every year. The show starts with ‘Moonbeam’ coreopsis in late spring/early summer. Soon after, the big, showy blooms of black-eyed susan and coneflower join the show. By mid-summer, you and the butterflies will enjoy the jolt of color and irresistible blooms of our native orange milkweed. Finally, come fall, when hungry butterflies are getting ready to migrate or settle down for winter, they’ll visit your garden for a feast of ‘Wood’s Light Blue’ aster and ‘Autumn Joy’ sedum.
