Hibiscus Magenta Chiffon® Description

Magenta Chiffon® rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) is the newest addition to the award-winning Chiffon® series from Proven Winners, and it is truly something to see. Rose of Sharon is generally characterized by softer tones, but Magenta Chiffon lights up the summer landscape with a bold, bright magenta. Flowers are fully double for an extra showy display. When this flowering shrub is in bloom in your garden, everyone will be asking you for its name!

Soil:  Plant in any well-drained spot. Can take some dryness once established.  
Light: Full sun (6+ hrs/day) is best

Fertilizing:  Fertilize in early spring, once the ground has thawed, with a granular rose fertilizer.
Winterizing:  No special treatment is required; 2-3" of mulch is recommended.
Maintenance:  Rose of Sharon does not need regular pruning, but may be pruned or trimmed in early spring if desired. Note: rose of Sharon is late to leaf out in spring. That doesn't mean it's dead! Be patient.
