Microbiota Celtic Pride® Description
Celtic Pride® Siberian cypress (Microbiota decussata) might just be the perfect low-growing evergreen. It offers an elegant, fern-like texture and hugs the ground like a groundcover (but no prickly foliage like other evergreen ground covers). It is extremely cold hardy (down to USDA zone 2/-50°F) and offers exceptional deer and rabbit resistance. Siberian cypress is also one of the most shade tolerant conifers, which makes it even more useful for landscaping.
Celtic Pride Siberian cypress is a Proven Winners ColorChoice selection with improved disease resistance and better color in winter, when that ferny foliage turns an attractive russet-purple.

Soil: Not finicky about soil, as long as it is well drained.
Light: Full sun (6+ hrs/day) to part shade/filtered light.
Space: Plant minimum of 3' apart. Can become quite wide when mature, but this will take several seasons.
Fertilizing: Little needed. Apply a granular rose fertilizer in early spring if desired..
Winterizing: A good 2-3" layer of mulch is recommended. Like all evergreens, should not enter dormancy/winter stressed from too little water, so apply water in late autumn before the ground freezes if weather has been unusually dry.
Maintenance: Little pruning is required. Remove branches selectively as needed.
