‘Apache Rose’ switch grass adds unique color to the fall landscape with its pretty pink flower heads and red-tinted foliage. With such a statuesque habit you might think it wouldn’t provide the same movement as other ornamental grasses, but its gracefully arching leaf tips move easily and create the swishing motion and noise we’ve come to love! PLANTING GUIDE
Soil: Easily grown in average, medium to moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers sandy loam with good drainage.
Light: Performs best in full sun, may not produce as many flowers in shade.
Water: Has average water needs and once established will tolerate some drought.
Spacing: 2 to 3 feet apart
Fertilizing: Fertilization isn't necessary, but if desired a small amount of all purpose garden fertilizer can be applied in spring.
Winterizing: Foliage can be left standing in winter.
