Phlox 'Opening Act Ultrapink' Description
A bright beacon in your garden, ‘Opening Act Ultrapink’ tall garden phlox has fluorescent pink flowers that draw in compliments as well as pollinators. Spreads slowly by stolons and performs beautifully when planted in masses, mixed borders, and cut flower gardens. It not only delivers blooms two to three weeks earlier than other varieties, but puts out a second flush of blooms when spent flowers are sheared in late summer. Remains handsome throughout the entire season with great heat tolerance and disease resistance.

Light: Phlox grow best in full sun.

Spacing: 2 feet apart
Fertilizing: If desired, apply a very small amount of all purpose garden fertilizer around the base of the plant in spring.
Winterizing: Leave foliage standing in winter and clean up spent foliage in spring.
Maintenance & pruning: Thin or prune by half in spring and prune spent flowers off after bloom, just above the foliage to encourage more blooms.
