Tater Tot™ arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis) is an irresistible dwarf conifer that you’ll want to add to your garden! It naturally grows as a cute little globe of fragrant, scalloped, evergreen foliage. It’s perfect as a shapely specimen in your landscape, to add structure and interest to your perennial garden, or as part of your rock garden or dwarf conifer collection. Soil: Grow in any moist but well-drained soil. Avoid very wet sites; tolerates some dryness once established.
Light: Full sun (6+ hrs/day) to part shade (4-6 hrs sun/day)
Space: 2' apart.
Fertilizing: Apply a granular rose or garden fertilizer in early spring if desired.
Winterizing: A good 2-3" layer of mulch is recommended; Avoid extreme dry soil in autumn, which can cause the evergreen foliage to dry out in winter.
Maintenance: No pruning is required, but may be trimmed if desired.
