Viburnums are useful for shaded areas and where deer resistance is required, but have usually been too large for some applications. Not anymore! Lil’ Ditty® viburnum (Viburnum cassinoides) from Proven Winners is one of the very few dwarf viburnums on the market. At just 2’ tall and wide, it allows even those with small spaces to enjoy all the beauty of viburnums!
This nifty little native shrub has very high quality, glossy foliage that gives it a distinctive, distinguished look in the landscape. In early spring, it is covered in foamy white flowers that attract pollinators. Useful as a low hedge or edging or to bring structure to a native plant or perennial garden. You really can’t go wrong with this special viburnum.

Soil: Grow in any moist but well-drained soil. Tolerates occasionally wet areas.
Light: Full sun (6+ hrs/day) to part shade (4-6 hrs sun/day)
Water: Average to moist.
Space: 2' apart.
Fertilizing: Apply a granular rose or garden fertilizer in early spring if desired.
Winterizing: A good 2-3" layer of mulch is recommended.
Maintenance: No pruning is required. If you do wish to prune, do so immediately after blooming since viburnums bloom on old wood.
