Campanula 'Rapido White' Description

Low growing, long blooming, and always in style!

One of the newest in compact campanulas with more flowers and tidier habit.

Campanulas, also known as bellflowers, provide a wealth of color and charm to the perennial border. The Rapido Series is regarded as an improved form over the well-known "clips" types, blooming up to 4 weeks early and demonstrating increased vigor in garden performance.

Rapido White forms a compact, low cushion mound of small triangular green leaves with wavy edges that grow 8 inches tall by 8 inches wide.  The foliage stays pretty even when not in blooms.

By early summer upward facing 2" cup shaped "open bells' in a clear clean white completely smother the foliage. Blooms continue thru late summer.  It benefits from cutting back or deadheading to keep those beautiful blooms coming.

Rapido White is an ideal sun perennial groundcover.  Tuck it in the front of the border, in front of shrubs, containers, rock garden or just about anywhere - see how great it looks planted with Let's Dance Big Easy hydrangea here.

Features:    Blooms first year, Cold hardy, Cut flower, Deer resistant, Drought tolerant, Easy care, Everblooming, Fast growing, Heat tolerant, Long blooming, Moisture tolerant,  Pest resistant, Rabbit resistant

Soil: Prefers a rich, well drained soil.  Will tolerate average soil, and clay if well drained.  Prefers a neutral to slightly alkaline soil.
Lightt: Full sun to part shade - Afternoon shade will benefit the plant and the blooms in warmer regions.
Water: Average water needs. Prefers consistently moist but not wet soil.
Spacing: 9 -12 inches
Fertilizing: Can feed regularly with a balanced liquid fertilizer, or use a spring application of timed release fertilizer, such as "Osmocote".
Winterizing: Many perennials will grow new leaves around the base of the plant after flowering. These should be left on the plant in the fall as they are there to protect the crown. Clean off old foliage in early spring as new growth emerges.
Maintenance & pruning:  Will continue blooming for weeks if spent blossoms are regularly removed. Plants should be divided every 2 to 4 years, in spring or fall.  Summer mulch is important to keep the roots cool.
