Wow! That's the best way to describe the color of Hot Cakes Saucy Strawberry hardy ice plant (Delosperma sp.). This sun-loving, heat tolerant ground cover succulent forms a lush carpet of glistening foliage which ends up obscured by wave after wave of bright red and purple blooms. Like the other six fabulous colors in the Hot Cakes series, it was selected for its appealing, neat habit, long bloom time, and outstanding flower coverage. Plant it and see the difference!
How to grow:
- Plant in full sun - at least six hours a day
- Well drained soil is a must; dry, sandy, or gravelly soils are no problem at all!
- Avoid cold, wet conditions and heavy soil
- Once established, will rarely need watering
- Not bothered by insects, pests, or diseases
- Zero maintenance needed - they don't even need to be cut back
