Delosperma Jewel of Desert Ruby Description

Delosperma Jewel of Desert Series represents a new generation of Ice Plant or Delosperma that blooms continuously from late spring thru frost.

Drought tolerant groundcover that doesn't need pampering! You can put away the watering can since this sun perennial thrives with little water or care.

Jewel of Desert Series are notable for the intensity of their flower color and ability to withstand the toughest environments and still sparkle like a jewel.

Delosperma forms a low growing 4-6" mound of spreading evergreen, succulent, jelly bean type leaves.  With their cascading effect, they are excellent in rock gardens, poor sandy or gravelly soil, container gardening or super tough hot spots where nothing else will grow. They grow happily given sharp drainage, little fertilizer, little water and full sun.

In late spring, masses of neon daisylike blooms smother the foliage.  Blooms are white with a yellow transitioning area highlighted with uniform bold strokes of bright ruby red on the tips of the petal.  The real plus is this awesome color blooms up to 5+ months in the garden.

Hardy Ice Plant Delosperma has no serious insect or disease problems in addition to being deer & drought proof.

Tips on Growing: Allow plants to completely dry out between watering. Avoid planting in cold, wet conditions and heavy soil. Use a gravel mulch only.

Perfect for planting at the base of Sedums, Ornamental Grasses, & KnockOut Roses.
