Echinacea Kismet® Yellow Description
Kismet® Yellow coneflower (Echinacea sp.) is a new selection that blooms longer in summer and better withstands winter cold, too. Proven winter hardy as north as Minnesota. Big, bright yellow blooms stand out in any garden.
Highlights of Kismet Yellow coneflower:
- Prolific -- Full, lush plant and tons of blooms are result of forming more crowns than other coneflowers.
- Dense & compact -- Just 16-18" tall and 24" wide so it fits easily into the garden.
- Blooms -- Big, bright blooms are held well above the foliage on sturdy stems. Petals are arrayed around the prominent centers, creating a striking look. Enjoy up to 5 months of bloom every summer!
- Stays fresh -- Clean, fresh flowers continue to appear through autumn.
- Cut flower -- Perfectly formed flowers are produced continuously, so you'll always have a good supply for arrangements. Plus, they are extremely long-lasting in the vase!
- Easy to grow -- Any spot with 6+ hours of sun and well-drained soil will do. Better winter survival than other coneflowers. Low water needs once established.

PLANTING GUIDE
Soil: Any well-drained soil will do.
Light: Full sun -- Plant them in a spot that gets at least 5 hours of full sun a day. If planted in too much shade, plants may flop or strain to reach the sun.
Water: Average -- Water regularly the first season to encourage good root growth. Though coneflowers handle heat and dry conditions well once established, they appreciate regular watering and will flower more if they are not stressed.
Spacing: 16 - 22 inches
Fertilizing: Little needed. Over fertilizing will cause spindly growth, so once in the spring with a granular garden fertilizer is more than sufficient.
Winterizing: Avoid damp spots. Do not heap mulching over crowns in winter, as this can cause rot. Leave the foliage and old flowers standing for winter (birds enjoy the seed heads), then trim back or remove spent foliage in early spring before new growth emerges.
Maintenance & pruning: Once planted, they are best left alone, as they do not transplant well. Deadheading (snipping off the spent blooms) is not necessary but does increase new flower production.Reviews
