Euonymus Unforgettable Fire® Description

Be the brightest house on the block every autumn with Unforgettable Fire burning bush (Euonymus alatus)! This improved Proven Winners ColorChoice selection has denser branching than other types. That means that it naturally grows as a fuller shrub to provide coverage and more of that dazzling bright red display. We particularly love this variety for privacy hedges and creating garden rooms, but it would make a stunning specimen or centerpiece to a flower or garden bed.

PLANTING GUIDE

Soil:  Any average soil will do; avoid extreme wet or dry conditions.
Light: Full sun (6+ hrs/day)
Water:  Moderate moisture
Space:  5-7' tall and wide
Fertilizing:  Seldom needed; apply a granular garden or rose fertilizer in early spring if desired
Winterizing:  Burning bush has shallow roots; a 2-3" layer of mulch helps conserve moisture and insulate the roots.
Maintenance:  Little pruning is needed, but the plant may be shaped as desired. Trim or shape in mid-late spring, after the new growth has emerged by before it hardens off.
