Hydrangea Cityline® Paris Description

Never worry about when, or how to prune your Hydrangea again!

This new compact Flowering Shrub grows to only 3' tall & wide, but its petite stature gives way to large & vibrant flowers of brilliant dark pink!

Cityline Paris Hydrangea was originally developed in Europe & was bred to create a dwarf pink-red shrub that bloomed for several weeks.

Thick, dark green, glossy leaves adorn this Hydrangea in spring, and mildew will not touch this new shrub!

Large trusses of dark pink flowers appear in early summer & are long lasting, both on the plant, or when cut. Blooms change to an attractive green with age!

Hydrangeas are continuing to take the flowering shrub world by storm. They are widely adaptable to both clay and sandy soil provided they are given copious amounts of water during the prolonged summer dry spells.

Almost all Hydrangeas thrive under morning sun with protection from the intense afternoon sun.

Special Features: Cut Flower, Dried Flower, Easy Care, Fast Growing, Heat Tolerant, Long Blooming, Moisture Tolerant, Multi-Seasonal Interest

Soil: Best grown in organically rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils.  Generally, a soil pH below 5.0 results in deep, vivid blues and as the pH rises the flowers range from blue to lavender to mauve to a vivid deep pink at pH 7.0 (neutral). The pH determines the availability of aluminum in the soil; this element is more readily available in acid soils, and this availability results in the blue flower color. Since phosphorus ties up aluminum in soils, using a fertilizer low in this nutrient will aid in attaining blue flowers. If pink flowers are desired and your soil is acid, simply add lime to raise the pH and use a balanced fertilizer. Aluminum sulfate will lower pH if blue flowers are desired.
Light: Most varieties tolerate full sun in the North, but benefit from afternoon shade. Tolerates full sun only if grown with consistent moisture. In the South, plants require afternoon shade. Intolerant of drought, with foliage tending to decline considerably in dry conditions
Water: Water to keep soil moist, but not wet. Mulch to conserve moisture and buffer soil temperatures, keeping mulch a few inches away from main stems to avoid rot.
Spacing:  3 feet
Fertilizing:  Fertilize once in spring with a fertilizer designed to encourage blooms (such as 15-30-15).
Winterizing: Remove and destroy any fallen foliage that was infected by powdery mildew. You may wrap with burlap or other protective covering to help preserve flower buds through a cold winter.
Maintenance & Pruning:  This variety blooms on old wood. Any pruning should be done before August (to be safe). Due to its compact habit, it rarely needs much in the way of shaping. You can remove some of the oldest stems at ground level to thin out the shrub as needed. In spring, only prune out dead wood once the new growth has emerged. Young plants may be transplanted when dormant in early spring.

I just wanted to thank you for the amazing and beautiful, excellent quality plants I received from you. The front of my home faces northand I can never find beautiful shade plants in my local nurseries. The only mildly interesting plants I could ever find were Hostas. That is,until I find your website! I was so shocked that so many beautiful plants and flowers were available for shade! I've ordered plants online before and have always been disappointed. Ieither receive bare root plants that are dead by the time I receive them, or they're packaged so badly they arrive crushed and mangled, or they're so tiny they rarely take and when they do it takes forever to grow into something you can see. I was so shocked and surprised how beautiful the plants were that you shipped me! They were packaged really well, they were established, they were moist and in awesome condition! Thank you so much for providing such quality plants! You have earned yourself a customer for life! Keep up the great work and know that your efforts are appreciated. I feel it's important to let companies know when they're doing a great job and you guys are doing a STELLAR job. (And I've told ALL my friends and neighbors about your site!)

Lovely Hydrangeas!

I ordered from you for the first time, and I needed to send you this email to tell you how pleased I am with my purchase of 14 hydrangeas. I have never been so impressed with mail order nursery stock-- your packaging was EXCELLENT. The plants are LARGE and HEALTHY, and arrived in perfect condition despite being shipped during end-of-June heat. The careful packaging just floored me!!!! I can;t wait too spread the word to my plant-loving friends about your business, and I canl' wait to order again! THANK YOU!!!!
