What's the difference between P.G Hydrangea and Limelight?
We've had a long love affair with PG Hydrangeas. (also known as Hydrangea paniculata) Regretfully after a rainstorm, PG flowers turn upside down. Limelight changes all of that. Flowers stay upright, opening lime-green and mature to a cream almost iridescent white. Wonderful in an evening or moonlit garden. As an added bonus, Limelight blooms earlier with flowers starting already in early July long before other varieties.

ReviewsWrite a reviewLimelight HydrangeaJen Runnells | Oct 19, 2020Received 6 limelight hydrangea quickly and very nicely packaged!!!! I had contacted great garden plants regarding a discount code & they responded quickly to my question. I can't wait to see how these little guys look in the spring! I would recommend purchasing from this company & plan to do business with them again in the future!
Pretty PlantsDeDe | Sep 24, 2020This is the second time I have tried to review the shipment I just received. It is a good thing that the plants were well packed because FedEx is not the parcel carrier that does best to my area. They indicated the plants would deliver on a Friday, however 1 box arrived on Mon and the other on Tues. One if the two plants delivered on Tues is still sulking. The plants themselves were healthy, but smaller than I expected. I have worked in the nursery trade and gardened several decades so I know the size of a jumbo quart. I purchased these intending to grow them on in 1 gallon pots to plant in the spring. However these had not been potted long and instead of opening root balls up I was holding them together. Not hat I expected in the fall. These plants were not ready to install. They may not be by fall. I have since found 4 2 gallon plants for the same price, less when you consider there were no shopping charges, locally. I order a lot of plants mail order, but these were not a good value for me. I think I will stick to ordering those plants that are not available except on line.
Pretty plantsDeDe | Sep 23, 2020I ordered 6 Hydrangea 'Limelight'. They were shipped exactly when I requested, however Fed Ex did not do the shipper any favors. They initially gave a reasonable delivery estimate which they missed by 2 and 3 days. Although the two box shipment was tendered to Fed Ex with a Master and Slave tracking number the boxes were delivered on two different days. I order a lot of plants mail order and this is not an unusual experience with Fed Ex. To this area UPS does much better. The plants were well packaged and arrived in good condition in spite of Fed Ex. That said however, I have worked in the nursery trade and have gardened about 40 years. I did not expect a large plant when I ordered a grower's quart, but given that it is fall I did expect a better rooted plant. I had expected to open the root ball up a bit and pot these up for spring planting. I was surprised to find that all 6 plants appeared to have been potted only a few weeks ago meaning I found myself holding the root balls carefully together when I went to pot them up. These will not be ready for spring planting, in my zone and for that reason did not represent a good value for me. Fortunately I unexpectedly found some 2 gallon plants of the same cultivar in a local nursery for only 1 dollar each more than the starter quarts - actually less expensive when you consider that there was no shipping. It is not unusual in my experience for small plants ordered in the spring to not be ready for potting up, but usually fall orders are ready to pot up. Guess I made a mistake.
Very happy with our purchase!Phil | May 5, 2020We were a little scared to order live plants online, but when we got our package, we were thrilled! Every plant was packaged well, nothing was out of sorts and they are green and very healthy!!
Nice Plants!Cheryl W. | Jul 23, 2018The hydrangeas were so nice. Thank you for answering my questions and sending me suggestions. I have ordered from you before and I always have been pleased! Thanks!
Wonderful plants.Kristen DeP | Jun 30, 2015I just wanted to thank you for the amazing and beautiful, excellent quality plants I received from you. The front of my home faces northand I can never find beautiful shade plants in my local nurseries. The only mildly interesting plants I could ever find were Hostas. That is,until I find your website! I was so shocked that so many beautiful plants and flowers were available for shade! I've ordered plants online before and have always been disappointed. Ieither receive bare root plants that are dead by the time I receive them, or they're packaged so badly they arrive crushed and mangled, or they're so tiny they rarely take and when they do it takes forever to grow into something you can see. I was so shocked and surprised how beautiful the plants were that you shipped me! They were packaged really well, they were established, they were moist and in awesome condition! Thank you so much for providing such quality plants! You have earned yourself a customer for life! Keep up the great work and know that your efforts are appreciated. I feel it's important to let companies know when they're doing a great job and you guys are doing a STELLAR job. (And I've told ALL my friends and neighbors about your site!)
Lovely Hydrangeas!Adrienne V | Jun 29, 2014I ordered from you for the first time, and I needed to send you this email to tell you how pleased I am with my purchase of 14 hydrangeas. I have never been so impressed with mail order nursery stock-- your packaging was EXCELLENT. The plants are LARGE and HEALTHY, and arrived in perfect condition despite being shipped during end-of-June heat. The careful packaging just floored me!!!! I can;t wait too spread the word to my plant-loving friends about your business, and I canl' wait to order again! THANK YOU!!!!
