Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Great job with the Chokeberry but I wish you would have cautioned me to the deer popularity I am using deer repellent now and watching over my 48 plants diligently
Hello! We're sorry the deer enjoyed your plants before you could. Young plants are especially susceptible to deer damage. We highly recommend spraying a liquid deer repellant for gardeners in areas with high deer traffic, which it sounds like you're doing. Please send photos of your plants to claims@greatgardenplants.com. We guarantee all of our plants for 60-days. https://www.greatgardenplants.com/pages/our-guarantee
These are doing well where I planted them. One was oddly shaped, but hopefully will fill out nicely. They were very dry when they arrived, but I kept them in the house for a week and watered as needed.
Low Scape Mound® Aronia
I've purchased several Low Scape Mound Arena to make a border in front of a patio fence. It's a small area, so I needed something that wouldn't take over the area. I also wanted something that would provide a 3 to 4 season showing and these sounded exactly what I was looking for. They were very healthy upon arrival and are thriving in my garden! I can't wait to see them bloom and for their leaves to change color in the fall. I'll update more pictures when that happens.
Plants arrived in great shape. Really like this little shrub. Nice spring flowers and attractive foliage the rest of the season.
