Mazus reptans Purple - Jumbo Landscaping Plugs Description
Don't settle for the same ho-hum groundcovers everyone else grows - plant something different. Fill your yard with flowers with purple Mazus reptans! Also known as cupflower, mazus is a fast growing groundcover that's covered with orchid-like purple blooms in late spring. It thrives in sun to part shade.
Neat and tidy little leaves hug the ground and are evergreen in warmer climates.
Plant this useful, unique groundcover anywhere you need color and coverage. It will tolerate foot traffic well and doesn't need mowing or trimming! It's especially nifty for planting between stepping stones or along walkways and paths. Very useful for slopes and other areas you don't want to maintain frequently.

Soil: Easily grown in average, medium to moist, well-drained soil. Prefers moist, rich soils.
Light: Full sun to part shade
Water: Medium to moist -- roots shouldn't stand in water.
Spacing: 6 - 12 inches
Fertilizing: Mazus may not require annual fertilization if the soil is rich. Spring is the best time to fertilize the plants if necessary. Apply a light application of balanced timed release fertilizer, and rinse the leaves thoroughly after applying to prevent leaf burn.
Winterizing: May need to mulch or protect in zone 5.
Maintenance & pruning: Will tolerate an occasional mowing. Can be divided in spring.
