Hydrangea Invincibelle Mini Mauvette® Description
Invincibelle Mini Mauvette hydrangea (Hydrangea arborescens) is only 3 feet tall, but it makes a huge impact the garden. If you thought you didn't have room for a hydrangea, think again - this beauty fits almost anywhere!
Deep pink-mauve blooms that are held up on sturdy stems (no flopping, even after a rainstorm!) and bloom for 12+ weeks offering bold contrast to the deep green foliage. Cut flowers make for elegant arrangements.
Wonderful for a sensory garden - since it's within reach and so fun to touch and feel the texture! This award-winning hydrangea should be a part of every landscape.
Invincibelle Mini Mauvette hydrangea flowers on new wood (growth created in the current season). As a result, these plants flower reliably each year, no matter how cold the winter is. It can be pruned each spring, just as the new growth begins to emerge. Remove up to one-third of the height each year if desired to encourage vigorous new growth and strong stems.
Hydrangeas enjoy moist but well drained soil and some sun each day. Many people think of hydrangea as shade plants, but they look and flower best with at least 6 hours of sun, ideally in the morning. Hydrangeas have shallow roots so require plenty of water especially as they are getting established in your garden. A 2-3 inch layer of mulch is a useful addition to any planting.
Hydrangeas are continuing to take the flowering shrub world by storm. They are widely adaptable to both clay and sandy soil provided they are given water, especially during hot, dry weather.
