Heuchera Rave On Description

Heuchera Rave On is perhaps the heaviest blooming coral bell ever & will provide MONTHS of blooms in your garden!

This hardy Shade Plant has highly silvered foliage in the spring which is then topped with dozens of flower spikes bearing hundreds of dark pink blooms for weeks on end!

Rave On Heuchera is a work-horse of a garden plant with multi-seasonal appeal from its silvered foliage to its extreme flower display.

Flower arrangers will also love the longevity of vase life from this new hybrid. Each flower stem will last from 7-12 days after cutting.

Heuchera Rave On also combines well with Hostas, lacey Hardy Ferns, & giant-blooming Hydrangeas.

No perennial garden is complete without a few Heucheras dotted around the landscape. Heucheras are widely adaptable to various soil types, and temperature extremes.

They thrive in normal garden soil with additional watering during prolonged periods of drought.

PLANTING GUIDE

Soil: Coral bells like a neutral to slightly acid soil pH, somewhere between 6.0 and 7.0. Good drainage is a must, especially in shaded areas. They do well in soil where some organic matter has been added.
Light: As a general rule, Heucheras do well in shade, but for the highly colored varieties, some morning sun will bring out more intense coloring. The color can wash out in full sun, and too much heat and light can cause the leaves to scorch.
Water: Average -- better too dry than too wet when established. Keep the soil evenly moist, but not consistently wet to prevent root rot. To reduce the risk of foliar disease, Heuchera require watering during the early morning so any excess moisture can evaporate before evening. Drip irrigation effectively delivers moisture directly to the soil, further reducing the plant's vulnerability to disease.
Spacing: 1.5 ft
Fertilizing: Use good quality compost, or well aged livestock manure, or a combination of the two. Apply a few pounds for each plant, each year or two. On poor soils, top dress every year or every other year on moderate quality soils. Spreading a 2-inch layer of mulch over the soil surrounding Heuchera helps insulate the soil during winter, and improve moisture retention. About 3 inches of space between the plant's crown and the mulch allows air circulation, which prevents rotting and disease. Replenishing the mulch throughout the year ensures proper winter protection, and hinders the establishment of competitive weeds.  Heuchera does not require fertilization during the fall or winter months.
Winterizing: Winter mulching will prevent the freezing and thawing that can heave plants roots.
Maintenance & Pruning: Cut back the entire flower stalk after flowering to put the plants energy into growing more leaves.  Divide Coral bells every 3-5 years to keep them from dying out in the center.

WOW!  I just got my plants and they arrived in picture perfect shape.  Your packing system is truly inspired.  Every plant came in still moist and not a bruise on a leaf.  I doubt my local garden centers could provide plants this healthy - assuming they even carried these varieties of Heuchera. I am very impressed and I’ve passed on your name with my highest recommendation to family and friends.  Excellent work to you and your whole crew at Great Garden Plants.  I’ll be back.

Wonderful plants.

My recent order of plants was received yesterday, and I am thrilled with the quality. Thank you! The plants were packed so expertly that even though the delivery person didn't observe the 'UP notice on the boxes, the plants were still intact and in great shape. It was with great pleasure that I unpacked the plants and admired each one yesterday. I certainly would recommend your company to others. Thank you for your efficiency and for the wonderful plants! I'll be back for more!
