Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Very healthy plants. They are growing great.
This plant, along with other drought tolerant plants I ordered, arrived quickly, well packaged and in excellent shape -- as usual for all my previous orders from Great Garden Plants. In my previous garden (in NM), Powis Castle was my favorite plant and handled drought, heat, and neglect, adding great character as its branches thickened/twisted and aged and the beautiful soft waves of silvery fans spread out to add texture to the flower beds. In PA, we have much more rain and cold, wet winters (but are now experiencing periodic short-term droughts that even affect native vegetation), so I'm hoping my experimental raised bed with LOTS of gravel mixed with the native clay will allow it to flourish without any supplemental watering. All my plants previously ordered from Great Garden Plants are growing well, so I have high hopes this will work out well too.
I'm keeping them in their nursery pots until the 104 heat wave passes. I've had the wormwood a few weeks now and they're slowly acclimating to my environment. The leaved are beautiful and will look nice next to my vegetables.
I love them! They're a perfect addition to my garden 😍
I received my plants ordered in a timely manner and each plant was packed healthy and with care. I wasn't able to plant immediately, however the plants are now settling into their new garden and beginning to acclimate and sprout new growth. I will definetly order from here again in the future!
