Geranium Rozanne Description
Geranium Rozanne (Cranesbill Geranium) is known for their large, jewel-tone violet-blue flowers and powerful blooming performance from spring-fall. One of the best, most garden-worthy perennial Geranium you can grow.
Discovered in England, this strong performing geranium stands out with 2.5" iridescent violet-blue, cup shaped flowers with purple-violet veins and radiant white centers. Extremely vigorous deeply cut green foliage which is lightly marbled with chartreuse, turns red in the autumn.
This hybrid is a cross between Geranium himalayense and Geranium wallichianum 'Buxton's Variety. Perennial Plant of the Year Award Winner
Rozanne grows into a mounded habit about 20" high and 24 inches wide.
How to grow Geranium
Rozanne thrives in full sun to partial shade. Afternoon shade is advisable in hot climates. It appreciates moist, well drained soil and boasts exceptional heat & drought tolerance among geraniums. Hardy to Zone 5-8.
To maintain peak appearance, shear back old foliage to 6-8" in August to promote new lush growth. Side branches may be removed to control spread. Not subject to insect or diseases.
How to Design with Geranium
Grow Geranium as a specimen plant, ground cover, or as an attractive plant for the front of the border. It combines very well with other perennials such as Shasta Daisy, Salvias, Ornamental Grasses. It's a delightful "filler plant" between daylilies or garden phlox. Rozanne combines well in a border where it is allowed to weave its way through taller perennials or shrub.
Mass planting of Rozanne provides a carefree, billowy textured mounds and is delightful in front of mass plantings of Roses.
