Achillea 'Firefly Diamond' Description

Everything you love about yarrow, and nothing you don't! Yarrow (Achillea sp.) has long been one of the most popular perennials for sun, thanks to its easy-going nature and long bloom time. It wasn't without a few bad qualities, though - until 'Firefly Diamond' came along! Developed and selected by Proven Winners Perennials for it sturdiness: no worries about it flopping, splitting apart, or splaying open. Enjoy a nice display of crisp white flowers on long, tall, slender stems all summer long.

Success with Firefly Diamond yarrow is simple. Just plant it in a sunny, dry spot and enjoy! It is unbothered by deer or rabbits and shrugs off hot, dry conditions. Flowers are nice in arrangements, both fresh and dried. Soft ferny foliage brings a unique texture to the garden.

Special features: Attracts butterflies, attracts pollinators, heat tolerant, deer resistant, rabbit resistant, long blooming, cut flower, dried flower

PLANTING GUIDE

Soil: Thrives in any well-drained, even dry, soil.
Light: Full sun (6+ hrs/day)
Water: average to low soil moisture. Avoid moist or wet soils, which can lead to weak growth and rot.
Spacing: 2-3 feet
Fertilizing: Not required or recommended. Overly fertile soils or conditions encourage floppy growth.
Winterizing: No special winter requirements; dry conditions in winter are preferred.
Maintenance & pruning: Plant can be cut back after its first early summer bloom for a flush of fresh growth as with other yarrow. However, this is not strictly necessary, as this improved selection continues to bloom without the customary trim.

Very disappointed to receive dead plants

Ordered six of these four Achillea "Firefly Diamond plants. to replace the two recently eaten by a gopher! I purchased gopher baskets and couldn't wait to receive these! As of now, I don't even recall how many of the Achilleas I received, nor does it matter at this point - all were dead-like. The plants arrived, package two to a narrow box. I was so excited to receive them! And then I opened them! So, so disappointing! Then embarrassed that I had been foolish enough to purchase plants on-line!! ALL were so dead, that the fern-like leaves were crunchy! I don't know if they will survive. (in addition, I also purchased six May Night salvias - five were received in horrible, nearly dead condition; purchased two Limelight hydrangea; two At Last roses - which were in much better shape!! And actually resembled a garden plant!. Still, I unpacked all, removed the plastic wrapping, following the instructions for watering and setting plants in a cool, shady spot for a time (yesterday was day three). I am giving all of the plants an additional couple of days, then calling the company!
Owner Response: Please give us a call at 877-447-4769 - We warranty our plants for a full 30 days after delivery (too many variables that are out of our control after that) But we really need to hear from you. -- Management
