Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

The plants arrived in good shape and after 2 days I planted them and they are thriving. I water them every day when it is hot and had no rain.
My order of 9 creeping phlox was shipped and delivered very timely. All of the plants were very healthy and in good condition. I followed the instructions and I have all of the plants happily growing in their new homes!

Sometimes things go wrong, and the Character of a business is displayed by their customer service team.
My Drummond Pink Creeping Phlox was ordered just as much of the country was entering a Heat Dome.
My Phlox shipped on time. But the poor little plants didn't stand a chance, spending 5 days in delivery trucks.
They baked. I immediately contacted Great Garden Plants, including a photo. They replied very quickly and offered the options of refunding my purchase, or placing a new order at no cost (to be shipped in the fall) I chose to have the order shipped in the fall.
The customer service is 5 stars. I have ordered plants earlier in the season with no issues. Lesson learned; I will not order plants from Memorial Day to Labor Day! But I will continue to shop via Great Garden Plants
I have ordered many creeping phlox both blue and pink with awesome success. But, for some reason this order has not been successful at all. Phlox were planted in protected gardens in the north and east sides of our back yard and watered daily to provide optimum opportunity for success. Only one is thriving at this point and the others are not.
I have been overwhelmingly pleased with all plants received so far this summer. With the exception of this order, everything is established and thriving.
Thank you!
