Description
As a cross between Heuchera (coral bells) and Tiarella (foam flower, Heucherella (foamy bells) takes our favorite traits from each parent to create a nearly-perfect perennial. It has deeply textured foliage from coral bells, boasting colorful hues that don't fade through the season. Plus, it produces more delicate white and pink flowers, similar to foamflower. This shade-loving plant is a low-maintenance option for containers, woodland gardens, cottage gardens, or even cut foliage and flower gardens.

How to Grow
Light: As a general rule, heucherellas do well in shade, but for the highly colored varieties, some morning sun will bring out more intense coloring. Color can wash out in full sun and too much heat and light can cause the leaves to scorch.
Water: Has average water needs, and will perform better if kept too dry than too wet after being established.
Spacing: 1.5 feet apart
Fertilizing: In spring a layer of compost or an application of all-purpose garden fertilizer can be applied around the base of the plant.
Winterizing: Winter mulching will prevent the freezing and thawing that can heave plants' roots. Leave foliage standing for the duration of the fall and winter.
Maintenance & pruning: In early spring clean up old foliage before, or just as, new growth emerges. Cut back the entire flower stalk after flowering to put the plant's energy into growing more leaves.
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:
