Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Packaged well. Two are doing well, unfortunately, one is struggling, at the moment.

Well I got the plants that I requested and paid for which I'm very pleased about. The packing was okay things were quite shaken about and lots of roots were dislodged.
The one plant I was really looking forward to receiving was a lot smaller than I anticipated I'm presuming cuttings were taken off of it for propagation prior to me even ordering the plant.
I'm not unhappy with what I received I'm just not ecstatic but when you're looking for specific things sometimes you just get what you get

Not thriving

The Illuminati Tower Mock Orange is not happy. Leaves have dried and curled. Newer growth initially looked good but is now also not looking good. It has been in the ground three weeks now. Hoping it recovers.
Other shrubs in my order are doing great!

Big and healthy

I was very impressed with the size of the plants and the level of hydration. It was tempting to put them into the ground and feed them some fertilizer right off the bat, but I just gave them a drink and let them acclimate for 48 hours, as recommended. They look so perky and alert, I can't wait to see them take off next Spring.
