Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

This native perennial thrives in moist, even wet soils, making it a vibrant addition to rain gardens or areas with poorly drained soils. We love seeing the rosy-pink flowers from 'Hot Lips' planted in masses, creating a river of blooms. Oh, did we mention it's also deer-resistant? This leaves many flowers to enjoy from summer through the beginning of fall or even add to a cut flower arrangement. 'Hot Lips' can also be planted in containers, provided the soil stays moist.

Chelone is a perennial native to the eastern United States. It is naturally found in woodland areas near rivers and bodies of fresh water. The tubular blooms, likened to turtle heads, hence its nickname, can attract pollinators, especially hummingbirds and butterflies. Details Botanical name: Chelone lyonii 'Hot Lips'

Some Did Not Survive!

I was disappointed that two turtleheads came half dead and did not make it. I've been too busy to write a complaint. but now that I came across this in my starred email; I would like a refund to my account.
The plants were smaller than I thought they eould be, too!

I love this plant and decided to get 3 different varieties. I live in Minnesota and the plants did suffer distress during shipping. I followed instructions and when planted they have not fully recovered as of yet. We will see.
