Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Pollinators play a vital role in our ecosystems, gardens, and especially our food chain. Flowers produce pollen as a means of reproduction. While there are so many pollinator-friendly plants to choose from, here are seven of our favorites. You’ll love them, and the pollinators will too.
Good root systems and healthy tops. Ready to go in the garden very happy with all purchases and certainly will be back.
Plants arrived in a timely fashion, and looked good. But now, a few weeks later, not quite dead —a couple of tiny little green leaves are showing. I did plant in June, and the plant was soon, but not immediately, subject hot, hot weather and then to a hail storm. Still watering daily. I did let the plants get acclimated to the climate before I planted them. I’m not sure if I, in combination with the climate, are to blame, but I’ve had similar luck with other Great Garden plants; coneflowers, to be specific. Maybe some cautionary notes and further instructions would be appropriate.

My hollyhocks came in such great shape. They seemed mature and so strong. I thought I was re-ordering from great garden, but actually ordered from someone else and the difference was amazing. I will never order from that company again and I will only order from great garden.
After a few days of acclimation, I planted my hollyhocks far enough apart for good ventilation and with the hope of getting some spread. I have been fighting a vicious case of rust and am in a wait & see mode to see if I have it under control. None of the other plants in that area are displaying rust.
