Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

A couple struggled from the first. Since then they have all died. I checked for over/under watering and drainage. I have no idea why they died. I'll try something else. I am sad because I thought they would be sturdy

I wanted so badly for this lavender to work in my garden. I ordered from here and proven winners direct and have had no success. I realize it requires poor soil with adequate drainage, but we obviously had too much rain in zone 8b this summer. All of the sweet romance lavender, including replacements, have died, despite my continued efforts to make them work both in ground and in containers. I would not recommend this lavender.

Best choice ever! When I purchased in April 2024, arrived in very small and sad looking, some of them were actually died from frost temp. during shipping.
I received replacement, and once I planted on ground, it was so quick to grow and bloom beautifully.
I am amazed how hardy and low maintenance compare to the other lavender.
Ordered three and planted in full sun. Two are doing great, the third one died in the ground. Will wait to see if they bloom. Beverly

I received my shipment of Sweet Romance Lavender a month ago and it has taken root well. I am not expecting blooms this year as it is already mid-July, but the plants appear to be happy and healthy.
