Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Rose bushes are a garden classic! Learn how to grow roses, when to prune roses, why the leaves are turning brown, why your plant isn't flowering, and everything else you need to know to grow roses like a pro.
I was really excited to receive my roses and although I knew they were not going to be large, I was really disappointed in the size. I'm a flower and rose gardener, so it's not like I didn't know what I was doing, but what I got was a COMPLETE RIPOFF!!! At $24ish each, for that I wish that I would've gone to Lowe's or HD and purchased beautiful Knock Out Roses, in full bloom and in a gallon container! I'm just sick about spending $150.00, 2 of which are NOT GOING TO MAKE IT and 4 that I'm having to really nurse in order to save them! I will NEVER shop with your company again. What a disappointing experience!
We’re sorry you’re not satisfied with your plants! On each product page and our plant sizes page, we note that all of our plants are young. The size of our plants varies depending on the time of year and whether they were recently trimmed. The most important thing when purchasing plants, online or in garden centers, is a full and robust root system, which we prioritize. Trimming only encourages stronger root development! All orders are covered by our 60-day guarantee, so please reach out to claims@greatgardenplants.com to start the claims process if necessary.
Planted this last year. Bloomed quickly. Survived our Texas Sumner while just a baby rose. Survived our Winter ice storms also. Now that Spring has come, it has bloomed immensely. Daily new roses bloom. This is its first Spring. Love it! 🧡 Thank you Great Garden Plants!
Too early to say for sure but wow, I just planted these in November and they're going strong already. We'll see if they continue to do well next year!
The At Last® Rose from Great Garden Plants is simply stunning! The vibrant orange blooms bring an unmatched pop of color to any garden, and its hardiness is perfect for New England’s climate. The plant arrived in flawless condition and has since thrived beautifully in my outdoor space. Its quality and care are evident, making it a standout addition. I couldn't be more thrilled with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone seeking to enhance their garden's beauty. Five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I was a bit disappointed when the rose arrived - a piece of it has been broken either in packing or shipping, and I had to cut it off. But I followed all instructions about caring for it before planting. I put it in a container, and it flourished. Filled in nicely and put out two lovely blossoms right away. It has a new bud on it now. I am so happy to have this rose. I saw it in my Better Homes and Gardens magazine a couple of months ago and fell in love with it. Couldn't find it at my local nursery. Thank you!
