Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Nice healthy plant, well packed and delivered in good shape. Very pleased.
I ordered 2 of these and they both are growing and filling out. I transferred both of them to 1 gallon containers and they both had a very good root system. I’m letting them grow a bit until I’m ready to put them in their permanent place in my landscape. They have both put on new growth and I will probably plant them in the next couple of weeks. Being in zone 8b I can plant them whenever I’m ready because the ground is still warm. I hope they bloom next spring so I can see what the little shrub will eventually look like.
I ordered several dozen plants from GGP. Delivery was prompt and the plants were all well packaged. Everything looked healthy. They’ve been in the ground about a month and all are doing well. I’ll have to wait until next Spring to see the hoped-for results. So far I’ve been very favorably impressed! I will definitely be placing more orders in the future.
Love this new addition to my gardens. Great chartreuse color and already blooming. Can’t wait to see it mature. Plants arrived very healthy and in great condition.
I can't believe there are no reviews about this plant - it is such a beauty! Raved about all over the internet. I (a beginning gardener) bought two last year after the bloom season. Even without having them for the bloom period last year, I loved it! The golden color just pops next to my grass and evergreens and makes me happy every time I look at them. The plants arrived well packaged and in great shape. Different plants in the order were not so lucky but GGP replaced them speedily - that really says a lot about them as a company. I was impressed and they earned my trust. As for the chardonnay pearls, I bought them because they are one of Dr. Armitage's favorites (love his app!). This year they came back great and are growing well - plus the buds (pearls) of the dainty white flowers are all over them! Just seems like a delicate looking (but vigorous), sweet happy plant - that I don't have to anything special for.
