Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

The plants arrived healthy and in a timely manner. I'm always pleased with Great Garden Plants. I just can't wait for them to bloom!
So far, so good. It's a bit early to leave a glowing review but these join 3 others that have all done well. We're expecting the same here
My plants arrived healthy and in good condition in the packaging. They’ve been in the ground for a couple weeks now, and are doing well. They arrived with a couple blooms on them and a few others have popped up. The blooms start out white, then turn light pink, and then dark pink. So beautiful!
The first one I ordered last year thriving greatly. The one ordered this time didn't make it. Too costly to order another one.

I purchased in 2021 and planted in container on an somewhat enclosed patio. It survived winter in NJ. It has bloomed through summer and I'm going to relocate into another larger planter in a few weeks. I will order a second plant to plant in another area of the yard and hope that deer and rabbits don't bother it. I love that it has such a long bloom period.
