Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

DescriptionLuscious new color gives a whole new look to this perennial favorite! 'Firefly Peach Sky' is a fab new yarrow (Achillea sp.) from Proven Winners that's going to make the perfect mate for so many colors in your garden. Imagine it paired with the vivid purples and blue of salvia, the soft swish of ornamental grass, or presiding over a group of succulent sedums. Straight, sturdy flower stalks are a bit taller than other yarrow, ensuring a stunning display in the garden or in a vase.
Success with Firefly yarrow is simple. Just plant it in a sunny, dry spot and enjoy! It is unbothered by deer or rabbits and shrugs off hot, dry conditions. Flowers are nice in arrangements, both fresh and dried. Soft ferny foliage brings a unique texture to the garden.DetailsBotanical Name: Achillea 'Firefly Peach Sky' Patent: PPAF

My yarrow got hammered with gold ball size hail and I wasn’t sure it would survive. After cutting it back it is now a beautiful plant that just keeps getting bigger and more blooms. Will definitely buy more!!
