Love!

I fell in love with agapanthus in So Cal…they are every where! I bought some bulbs and grew them indoors in winter, outdoors in summer. Lots of foliage no blooms. I was so excited to find a winter hardy variety to try! I planted in spring 2020 and got a few blooms the first year. I mulched them with oak leaves for the winter north of Boston and held my breath. It took a long time for them to break through in spring 2021…or maybe it was because I was hovering and checking every day! 😀. I fed them and added worm castings and voila….they just about doubled in size and tons of beautiful blue flowers! So Cal meets MA!

"Sleep, Creep, Leap!"

I'm giving this plant/purchase 3 stars... for now...
If the old adage is true:"Sleep, Creep, Leap!", it is certainly true in my case with my Lily of the Nile/Galaxy Blues. They have literally not changed since I planted them in June. There is no new growth, not even new leaves. They are very green and very firm so they're doing well (apparently) but again no growth. I'm hoping to see a change maybe before the end if Summer but certainly by Spring. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for asking. Who knows my rating may actually change to 5 stars!
