USDA 9 does not equate to heat zone 9

The caption says it colors up best in full sun. I live in the Houston area, zone 9, and the leaves on this one do fry in the afternoon sun. It's only very late afternoon, well past the hottest hours but it just doesn't like it. Also, you can probably tell but they should have been named "Purple Pearl". Just sayin'. Still, happy with them, but we have to be reminded sometimes, that "full sun" doesn't mean "full Houston sun".

Very Frustrated

The plants came nicely packaged and a good size very healthy. The main reason I purchased these Heucheraas was because they were advertised as deer resistant in the product description on your website. I planted 8 of them in the afternoon and the next morning the deer had eaten them down! I am extremely disappointed that I trusted the recommendations from Great Gardens web site only to find their information on deer resistance to be untrue. I spent a lot of money and time digging and planting these 8 plants

I understand your frustration, no plant is completely deer proof, if there is a large deer population and if the deer are hungry enough, they will eat anything.
