Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

Dead brown stumps

As with all the other plants we got from Great Gardens - dead in a few days. These are usually tough as boots and thrive in our area, but nothing from Great Gardens survived, whereas plants from other nurseries that we got at the same time are all doing fine.

The plants arrived in decent shape. Smaller than expected. I repotted them in bigger pots and am going to let them settle and grow this summer and then plant them in the garden this autumn. Hopefully this will give them a greater chance at survival. I’m keeping them out of direct sunlight for the hot summers days.

Great Products from Great Garden Plants/Bushes!

We ordered a Sunjoy Tangelo Barberry it looked a little sun burnt on two stems, I contacted Sarah at Great Garden Plants & she asked me to send her a picture of the bush & Sarah thought it looked sun burnt damaged also & she didn't hesitate to offer me a new barberry bush at no cost for replacement or delivery. We received the new barberry bush in a short period of time & the replacement was in excellent condition & was about 2 to 3 times bigger! Everything we have ordered has been in excellent shape and are thriving! The Sunjoy Tangelo barberry has lovely colors of deep orange & purple in Fall we are so glad we received another one!
