Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

Description With clusters of flowers with light purple petals and dark purple veins, 'Valencia' Lily-of-the-Nile (or Agapanthus ) is sure to be a prized specimen in your garden. This perennial delivers on summer interest and interesting garden texture with slender, sword-shaped foliage forming a mound and long dark scapes reaching over two feet tall. It's a great addition to pollinator or cut flower gardens, with long-lasting blooms in the landscape and vases. Heat tolerant, deer resistant, and pollinator-friendly, plant in masses or as a specimen for funky flowers.

Lily of the Nile, famous for their multiple funnel-shaped flowers, will grace your summer garden with their quirky clusters of blooms. Visually similar habit to Allium, these heat-loving perennials send up tall clusters of flowers out of the dense strappy foliage. It's evergreen in warmer climates, and though it disappears over winter in zones 7, it will re-emerge in spring for another season of flowers. Great service
