Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

All of the plants I’ve purchased this year from this site have come packaged well and are doing quite well. These plants were healthy, budding and started blooming within several days.
I ordered 10 of these lily of the Nile plants in the spring. I didn’t plan properly and ended up needing two more. Unfortunately, when I went to re-order, this was out of stock. I had to go with another online nursery for the last two. Those two plants were not nearly the same quality, despite similar pricing. I have ordered several plants from Great Garden Plants and have not been disappointed. Everything comes well-packed and healthy. I have had these Lily-of-the-Nile plants in the ground for about a month and everything is looking good. I’m looking forward to seeing these mature.
For comparison, in one of my photos the dark green Lily-of-the-Nile is GGP. The lighter and less healthy green one is a competitor. It was planted the same way I planted the others.
Plants arrived healthy. One or two had a flower or two on them but that was it. It's late in the season so hopefully they'll surprise me with lots of flowers in Spring.
Really looking forward to seeing these grow and bloom
