Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

The bush I received is very small and bedraggled. I am hopeful it survives, but not optimistic. I won’t be ordering from you again.
I am sorry to hear your plants arrived bedraggled. Please send pictures to firstname.lastname@example.org, making sure to put your name and order # in the subject line. Rest assure your plants are covered under our 60 day warranty.
Plants were smaller than the wife thought they would be. I followed the Directions, lettling them sit, protected for three days or so inside a Tin, then planted them as directed. I also used an appropriate Fertilizer inside the hole and on the surface, prior to covering them with the rock previously in place. I have watered them daily for 60 to 90 minutes. The plants have doubled in size since I planted them. The wife is waiting for them to double double again, before she is totally pleased with them. Thank You!
Received 1 gal plant in great shape and even blooming. Plant is doing great with new growth and blooming the first year.
Just received my 3 plants, a little broken and disheveled but not horrible. Planted after 2 days like the instructions said. They look great. Can't wait for bees amd butterflies.
I have found Great Garden Plants to respond to my questions/concerns quickly. The plants have come packaged very well. I’ve done all that I’ve needed to do, i.e. taken them out of the package right away, removed all the packaging material as well how I’ve help them to acclimate to our environment after leaving the greenhouse and traveling. So far my Punster’s are doing well.
