Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Arrives as young plant
I bought 19 bellflowers between April and May. They all died! They looked great upon arrival but could not tolerate the heat despite daily watering. They never got full of flowers either. Don’t waste your $$.
Hello! We're sorry to hear that you had some trouble with your new plants. Our team of horticultural experts is always available to help out when you experience trouble in your garden. When transplanting young plants from a nursery pot to a garden, the plant allocates more energy to root development instead of shoot development (above ground). This is why you did not notice large blooms of flowers. While the heat may feel intense in your area, daily watering could have been too much if you were not feeling the soil to determine watering needs. If you have any additional questions, we're here to help out! You can contact our customer service team at firstname.lastname@example.org. Happy Gardening!

'Rapido White' Bellflower
When my bellflower arrived it appeared wilted and . When planted, it appeared to continue dying slowly. One small area of it has survived and produced one flower. I can only hope it survives.
Hello! Shipping can be stressful on new plants. However, with proper care, they will thrive in your garden. You can check out our care guide here: https://blog.greatgardenplants.com/planting-guide/
In regards to flowers, keep in mind that when transplanting young plants from a nursery pot to a garden, the plant allocates more energy to root development instead of shoot development (above ground). It's important for them to develop a robust root system so they can actually absorb the nutrients and water in the soil around them. Then after their root system is more developed they'll invest in their shoots and flower development. They generally spend their first year growing roots in their new home, the second year they have more energy to put into growth, and the third year, they are growing and flowering vigorously. This applies to plants in the garden center as well as plants you purchase online. We hope this helps.
You can also send us a photo of your plant to email@example.com and we can take a closer look at what might be happening.
I think I was shipped a dead or dying plant. It was so dead & desiccated, it could not have happened in the fairly quick transit. Now I see the same plant on sale.
