Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Disappointed, I spent over $1200 with this company and all plants except for 2 have died. I’ve tested the soil to ensure it’s at the optimal level, I put in watering systems to ensure each section received only the amount of water it required along with proper fertilizing steps and ensuring each plant has the optimal amount of light of the plants have lasted out of the 40 or so I purchased.
I have not received the salvia that I ordered.
All of my plants looked ( look) wonderful, but 6 of them have to be under wire mesh do the deer don’t eat them. They pull them right out of the ground😞
Great plants! I am an avid gardener and these come well packed and protected. I have ordered quite a bit from Great Garden Plants and I have never been disappointed!
Plants were in good shape on arrival and I planted them a week later. So far they have more than doubled in size and are getting their roots established. I had planted a couple of these two years ago and it took a year before they really got going and filled out to expectations. I’ve learned that most plants get ready in their own time even same species so with patience these will be at their peak form by next spring. So far they are very healthy and happy with their full sun location. 😊
