Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

The plants arrived with a few brown spots on them. I’m told that’s a fungus?

We have been purchasing plants from Great Garden Plants for two years now. The plants are healthy and thriving when we pick them up. Since their greenhouse is within 30 miles from our home, we opt to pick them up at the greenhouse. We would strongly recommend Great Garden Plants.
Plants arrived without damage. Planted and are thriving. Some of the healthiest plants I've purchased online. Will definitely purchase from your in the future.
The Fire Island hosta was healthy and strong out of the package. It’s growing well, and it’s yellowish color stands out beautifully from other hostas and coral bells. I’m very happy with it! I’ve ordered many times from Great Gardens and the results have always been positive. Please keep it up! Thanks!
This bright hosta pops. I paired it with hot pink and I love it!
It grows fast and is very hardy. It is surviving the 100+ weather in North Texas.
A few of the hostas looked much smaller than the others upon arrival but they have all evened out size wise.
It is in its first year and it's currently blooming.
