Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Plants arrived in great shape and healthy. They’re doing fine so far and have been liking their new location in my garden.
I bought six good shrubs in 2023. Turned out to be a "ground cover" not a shrub.
Roots extend from the main plant to form a new plant. As far away as 24 inches! So I have several unwanted new plants from one shrub.
I wanted a shrub.
What differentiates Low Scape Mound® Aronia from others on the market is its tidy, low-growing habit. It's perfect for a smaller garden or as an edging plant. We apologize if that is not what you want, but as the shrub matures, it will take on more of its mature habit. For further assistance, please contact claims@greatgardenplants.com with your order number and photos of the plants. We look forward to helping!
Wanted something for the bed facing south that wouldn't get too big (these top at 3 ft), flowered in the spring and had berries in the fall/winter to feed the birds. These fit the bill. They arrived in excellent condition and well packaged. They are healthy, vigorous plants that are already putting on new growth. Very happy with these.
I was very pleased with these. They were smaller than I expected but they have really popped! Beautiful and healthy. I would definitely purchase these again
We received our bush quickly! We followed all your suggestions and have it in the ground. Since it is a deciduous bush, we won’t really know until spring if it grows.
