Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

DescriptionAttract hummingbirds from spring to frost with Sonic Bloom® Red weigela (Weigela florida). It blooms in spring, along with other weigela, but then comes roaring back with bright red flowers through summer and fall. That means it feeds hummingbirds all summer long, too! This is a medium-large sized weigela that is ideal for planting as a flowering hedge or specimen. Anywhere you plant it, you’ll be delighted with the color and performance of this reblooming weigela.
About the Sonic Bloom® series: Proven Winners specially selected these reblooming weigela from plant breeders around the world for outstanding performance. Not only do reblooming weigela give you way more flowers than conventional types, but their prolonged summer and autumn bloom also attract hummingbirds during peak season. They bloom about as much as a landscape rose, but with none of the problems!DetailsBotanical name:Weigela florida 'Verweig 6' Patent #: USPP 25,132 Common name: Weigela Zone: 4 - 8 Sun exposure: Full sun (6+ hours sun) Height x width: 4-5' tall and wide Flower color: Red Foliage color: Green Season of Interest: Spring-fall Bloom time: Spring - fall Features: Rabbit & deer resistant, proven winners, heat tolerant, cold tolerant Uses: Specimen, Hedge, Perennial gardens How To GrowSoil: Grow in any moist but well-drained soil. Tolerates some dryness once established. Light: Full sun (6+ hrs/day) Water: Average Space: Min. 4' apart. Fertilizing: Apply a granular rose or garden fertilizer in early spring if desired. Never fertilize weigela past mid-summer, as this increases likelihood of winter damage to any new growth the plant puts on as a result. Winterizing: A good 2-3" layer of mulch is recommended. Maintenance & Pruning: Weigela bloom on old wood so should only be pruned after blooming. Once plants are mature (after at least 5 years in the ground), you may want to remove a few of the oldest stems each year to keep it producing vigorous young growth. Note: weigela are one of the last shrubs to leaf out in spring, so don't panic if you aren't seeing signs of life even if everything else in your yard has started to grow.
Plants arrived in very good condition. With plenty of water, they’re doing great.

Plants were shipped/packaged carefully and came in great shape! So far plants are growing very well with no issues!
I had in mind to plant a living fence along our property line and was skeptical of buying plants online because you never know what you're going to get, but decided to go ahead with purchasing 21 Sonic Bloom Red Weigela and I'm so happy with them!! They arrived in great packaging and since planting they have taken off! Already doubled in size and are blooming!! Great customer service too, I had two plants that didn't survive and one that was looking meh..I contacted customer service, provided pictures of the plants and got a response within a couple of hours. They sent me three replacement plants that are as big as the ones I purchased earlier and they are as healthy as can be!! Will definitely purchase from them again without hesitation!
Plants arrived in great condition, and started to bloom about two weeks after planting.
