Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Loved by gardeners and pollinators alike, stonecrop (Sedum) comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, from low-growing beauties with succulent-like foliage to tall, mounded varieties full of flower clusters. Here, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about growing stonecrop plants, as well as answer frequently asked questions about this low-maintenance perennial.
I am out of state trying to help my dying mother-in-law and her stroke victim spouse. The wanted some landscaping done while I’m here. So I ordered some plants to be shipped the day after I would know definitively if I would have to go home (due to illness back there) before the plants would arrive. As soon as I discovered that I would not be here to put the plants in the ground, I canceled the order that was due to ship out the next day. When I called today to verify that the order had been stopped, they said it had shipped early. I won’t be here. My in-laws will not be able to do anything with the plants, including refusing or returning them, and I am out hundreds of dollars. I will never buy from or recommend GGP ever again.

I ordered three of the golden stonecrop sedum for a weird spot in my yard. One of the pots was totally empty and there was dirt and broken pieces of the plant in the bottom of the box. I contacted the company and they are sending a replacement plant, for that they get three stars. The two surviving plants do not look like what I ordered.

I ordered golden stonecrop and when my orders arrived they were totally destroyed, out of the 22 quarts I got I was able to actually save one of them ! When I received the orders they didn’t look like needle stonecrop , and after the plant I saved started to grow , it wasn’t what I ordered it was gold moss stonecrop which is a much smaller plant . I believe that if you had sent the correct plant it would have survived as it is not as fragile
