Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

This looked good upon arrival although it needed water but wasn't overly dried out. I wasn't able to plant right away because I had to prep the area. It sat in the shade and had a deep water from one of seed trays and started leafing out even more. I was surprised. Depending how well this one does I may ad 2 more of these to my landscape. I only wish there was smaller version of this with red twigs I would get that too!
I lost them, I think they were a little too small. I tried/trying to grow them inside but we'll see. I don't think that it would be fair to rate you because I ordered them look late in the season. I'll give you another chance in the spring. Perry Jordan

The plant I received was very healthy with a good root system. I received my order within a few days of ordering. I have always been pleased with my orders from Great Garden Plants. I would not hesitate to order from them again.
I ordered the shrubs. Two came in good condition. One looked pretty bad and my babying could not revive it. So 3 1/2 stars
