Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

Description Autumn Joy Stonecrop (Hylotelephium syn. Sedum) brings fall color to the garden with color-changing blooms. Thick, wilt-proof leaves give way to massive heads of clustered flowers in late summer.  Blooms start pink, then gracefully darken to a deep rose-red as they age in the fall. These fresh flowers serve as a magnet to butterflies, then spent seed heads attract birds in fall and winter. We love this sedum for more than just its looks! This perennial handles heat, humidity, and mild drought with ease. Plus, it's deer resistant, so you won't have to worry about damage. Water: Dry to average moisture. It tolerates drought once established, but should receive some water when conditions are hot and dry.
Spacing: 1.5 - 2 ft.
Fertilizing: Fertilizer isn't required when grown in rich soils, but a handful of all-purpose granular fertilizer can be applied in early spring if needed.
Winterizing: Dried flower heads of many varieties remain attractive in winter, whether left standing in the garden or brought indoors. Small animals and bugs may take home in accumulated debris during cold weather. It doesn't need mulch in winter unless grown in harsh climates.
Maintenance & pruning: Pinch back the tips of new spring growth for more compact plants. Stop fertilizing and water in the fall and winter. Throughout spring and summer, divisions and cuttings can easily root for new plants.

Tiny tiny!

It was definitely my fault for not noticing that the plants were 1 quart. By the photo and the price I definitely thought it was 1 gallon! $29.99 each plus shipping! I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the tiny plants. I then went to a local greenhouse and bought 1 gallon of the same plants on sale because it’s almost fall for $5. each. I understand that you cannot sell them that cheap I guess but you should show in the photo how tiny the plants are. I feel cheated and would never buy from you again. Too bad because I am an avid gardener and buy for outside and in all year around.
