Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Doing good
I ordered two and received them today. The plants are so healthy and I have never seen better packaging. The pots were wrapped in plastic and the soil was still damp when I got them. The plants were laid horizontally facing each other and surrounded by a cardboard section that kept them from jostling. This was then put in a bigger box and stuffed with butcher paper. I can't fully express how wonderful it is to receive a healthy little plant that hasn't been damaged by sloppy packing. There is nothing worse than getting a little plant that started out healthy but is close to dying when you receive it. I have had this happen more than once with online orders.

Beautiful plant
Maybe this plant should not be shipped in the heat of summer. The poor condition of the plant may be a result of when it was shipped.
Hello! It is common for plants to experience slight stress from shipping, as they have not experienced their ideal growing conditions at this time. We recommend placing plants in a cool, shaded spot out of direct sunlight for 24-48 hours after unpacking them. This allows them a recovery and acclimation period before planting. If you must hold them longer, place them out of direct sunlight, wind, heat, and cold, and plant as soon as possible. Please email your order number and pictures of your plants to claims@greatgardenplants.com to start the claims process, and we can make sure your plants are on the right track! https://bit.ly/ggp-guarantee
